Biography

Yao Cui is an associate professor of operations, technology, and information management at Cornell University's Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. His research focuses on operational innovation, exploring how new technologies can shape operations and pricing strategies across industries like supply chains, the gig economy, and hospitality. Cui’s work has been published in top journals and recognized with several awards, including the INFORMS Service Science Section Best Student Paper Award. He has received prestigious fellowships and holds editorial positions in leading academic journals. Cui also teaches operations management and revenue management analytics at the graduate level and was named one of Poets& Quant’ 40-Under-40 Best MBA Professors in 2023.
